; 0 ; several plants were seen, all with a uniform dull wine-maroon color on the outside of the leaves and a dull green color on the inner side; from the center of the plant rises a flowering spike, whose flattened bracts have a russet bronze coloring; although the general habit of the spike and the shape and size of the flowering bracts are similar to those of vriesea splendens var; splendens, the coloring of the leaves is completely different from the striped effect of gray and green or purple and green of var; splendens, known in venezuela as "tigre" or'jaguar" plant; it appears appropriate to the authors to furnish this distinct variety with the following description.Edited from ( 9-21-2015): Bromel.
