Abstract:—This check-list is intended to provide a single source for currently accepted names of Tillandsia species and an outline of their ranges. In addition, brief taxonomic notes are inserted for clarification. Country-by-country lists of Tillandsia species, based mostly on the published literature, and an index of synonyms are appended. Taxonomy:—Tillandsia dorotheae x Probably of hybrid origin (H .Luther pers . comm.). W.Till (pers. comm. ) suggests that the parents may be T. albertiana Vervoorst and T. argentina C.H . Wright. (p.18).—Tillandsia gutteana Treated as a synonym of Tillandsia macbrideana var. major Rauh, but it seems to be a good species on its own (p.32).—Tillandsia lambrostachya Considered as a synonym of Tillandsia rothii Rauh (p.30).—Tillandsia mandonii Treated as a synonym of Tillandsia myosura Grisebach ex Baker (p.68).—Tillandsia meridionalis var. subsecundifolia Considered a synonym of Tillandsia leonamiana Pereira (p.34).—Tillandsia parvispica Resurrected from synonymy of Tillandsia polystachia (L.)
