• Species restricted to the region of the Choco biogeographic of Ecuador and Colombia. For Ecuador registrations have been made in the provinces of Carchi, Cotopaxi, Emeraldas and Pichincha (Luther 1999). In Colombia it is represented in the departments of Antioquia, Cauca, Choco, Narino and Valle, between 20 and 1.800 m altitude. —See Betancur & Salinas 2003
