Comments:
- R. nidularioides has been confused with Aechmea aciculosa. It is distinguished by an inflorescence submerged in the center of the rosette. The leaves and flowers are a smaller size than A. aciculosa and the foliage is red when flowering. It is found only in the province of Pichincha. It is the only species of Ronnbergia without petiolate leaves in Ecuador. —See Manzanares 2002a
