- The specimens were observed growing isolated or in small groups of about five or more individuals, with populations severely affected by the annual fires. In field conditions, the strong sweet fragrance produced by its flowers was more intensively perceived between 10:00 to 12:00 am. —See J. Bromeliad Soc.
