Distribution: COLOMBIA: Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Meta

Habitat: terrestrial in the understory of the high elevation Andean forests, 2000−2950 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet comes from the Latin longus (long) and caulis (stem), emphasizing its notably long and slender stems. Although other species in Greigia may also be caulescent, G. longicaulis is distinguished by its proportionally thinner and more elongated stems (Fig. 9C), a distinctive trait of this species
