Distribution: COLOMBIA: Boyac, Cundinamarca

Habitat: terrestrial in highland ecosystems of the Eastern Cordillera, locally abundant, 2600–3720 m. Elev.

Etymology: The specific epithet honors the Muysca (also spelled Muisca) civilization, whose ancestral territory and cultural landscape encompass the geographic distribution of the species. In the Muysc cubun language, muysca means “person” or “people,” serving as both a singular and plural term (Gómez-Aldana, 2025)
