Habitat: grows terrestrially on grows organic litter accumulated on sandy soils in a coastal shrub vegetation vegetation, occurring in a transition zone to the Atlantic Forest, 10 - 15 m. Elev. img

Etymology: The specific epithet of this new species is based on the Latin word prolectus, which means to bring forth, entice or lure. It is a reference to the very attractive general appearance of C. prolectus due to its dark foliage covered by dense white trichomes which usually exposes a contrasting glabrescent narrow central portion
