Type: Nay. ("15 mi" S of Tepic, road to Compostela, Gentry & Gilly 10825, MICH, the holotype), w Jal. Mountains "9 mi" N of Compostela (McVaugh 16496, MICH); Mpio. Talpa, between Cuale and Minas de Oro (Gonzalez T. 428, MICH). Known only from these specimens and the type.

Habitat: On rocks in oak or oak-pine forest, mountains and foothills of the Pacific slope,, 1000-1600 , m. Elev.
