Type: Mexico, Puebla, municipio de Aljojuca, laguna de Aljojuca, km 15 ca¬rretera federal San Salvador El Seco-Esperanza, 19°05'33" N, 97°32'17" W, 2500 m s.n.m., matorral xerofilo en las paredes laterales del crater, suelo de origen vol¬canico, 2 mar. 2005. Florecida en cultivo en la ciudad de Merida, Yucatan, jun. 2005, I. Ramirez Morillo & C. Duran 1299 (holotype: CICY (x5);isotype: UAMIZ (x5), plantas femeninas).
