Habitat: exclusively an epiphyte occurring in the higher parts of the Atlantic forest, that covers the inland hills in Ilheus, Bahia

Etymology: from the Latin oleosus, oily, in reference to the slightly oily, but not sticky, substance that covers the inflorescence.
