Distribution: Brazil: Sergipe

Habitat: on small flat calcareous rock with Caatinga vegetation in cultivated landscape, ca. 350 m. Elev.

Etymology: The Latin epithet honors the co-discoverer Gerhard Heimen from Leverkusen (Germany). Gerhard Heimen is a well known specialist of the Brazilian cactus flora, always also interested in the associated vegetation.
